Twenty mixed delivery scholarships are available now for eligible preschool-aged children at the Sprout School’s Bainbridge location at 1101 Bainbridge Street in Richmond.
“We believe that every child deserves a quality early childhood education,” said Lynne Robinson, Chief Program Officer for YWCA Richmond and head of the Sprout School. “These mixed delivery scholarships help families gain access to accredited preschool programs that prepare their children for elementary school and beyond, as well as provide a safe, secure place for children to thrive while their parents work or apply for jobs.”
The 20 mixed delivery scholarships, which are sponsored by the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation, are available for children between the ages of three and five and cover all or most of the cost of full-day preschool and childcare at the Sprout School Bainbridge for 12 months, beginning on August 24, 2026. Scholarships will be awarded until September 18, 2026, to children whose families qualify.
To be eligible for the scholarship, at least one of the following must be true…
- The family’s household income is no more than two times the federal poverty guideline (see chart)
- The child’s family is experiencing homelessness
- The child’s parent or guardian did not receive a high school diploma or GED
- The child is eligible for special education services and has a documented disability or delay
- The child is eligible based on other criteria unique to Ready Region Central
