Director of Operations

The Director of Operations oversees the administrative, operational, facilities, and technology functions that support YWCA Richmond’s domestic violence resource center and housing campus and each location of the childcare and early learning centers, The Sprout Schools.
This role provides leadership across program operations, facilities management, procurement, operational budgeting, vendor relations, information systems and agency-wide technology and IT infrastructure. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Operations ensures efficient service delivery, strong internal controls, data integrity, cybersecurity awareness, and continuous improvement across programs, supply functions, and organizational support services.
The Director of Operations assists the CEO in organizational management, strategic execution, and special initiatives, ensuring that YWCA Richmond operates with excellence, accountability, and alignment with its strategic goals.

Advancement Positions:

Director of Major Gifts & Advancement Events

The Director of Major Gifts & Advancement Events is an advancement leader responsible for designing and executing YWCA Richmond’s major gifts strategy while overseeing the planning, production, and stewardship of high-impact fundraising and leadership events. This role advances YWCA Richmond’s mission to empower women and eliminate racism by cultivating meaningful, long-term relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation investors and by elevating the visibility and impact of YWCA programs through strategic events.
This position contributes to the full organizational vision and fundraising strategy and works collaboratively across senior leadership, advancement, and programs teams. The Director leadswith a clear commitment to equity as both a process and an outcome and fosters a culture that advances YWCA’s mission across fundraising practices, donor engagement, and organizational systems.
The ideal candidate is both a strategic fundraiser and a hands-on leader—able to manage major gift portfolios, mentor staff, engage the Board of Directors, and execute complex events— while leveraging data, systems, vendors, and best practices to achieve ambitious and sustainable revenue goals.

Sprout School Positions:

Center Director – Sprout School (Bilingual – Spanish encouraged to apply)

Salary Range: $50,000-$65,000

The role of the Center Director is to manage the day-to day operations of the specific Sprout School for which they are responsible. The Center Director will be the primary contact with the staff and families at the school. The Site Director is responsible for delivery of a high-quality instructional program and works with the team to ensure overall operation of the school including: curriculum implementation in classrooms, staff training and development, student enrollment, parent and community relations, profit and loss management, and facility management. An ideal candidate will be an experienced Pre-K school educator. This is a full-time position with full benefits.

Assistant Center Director - Fulton Sprout (Bilingual – Spanish encouraged to apply)

The Assistant Director supports the Center Director in the day-to-day operations. This position
plays a key role in ensuring high-quality programming, smooth administrative operations, and
strong relationships with families and staff. The Assistant Director acts as a liaison between the
teaching team and Center Director and may serve as the acting Director in their absence.

The Assistant Director supports the Center Director in the day-to-day operations. This position
plays a key role in ensuring high-quality programming, smooth administrative operations, and
strong relationships with families and staff. The Assistant Director acts as a liaison between the
teaching team and Center Director and may serve as the acting Director in their absence.

Lead Teacher – Sprout School (Bilingual – Spanish encouraged to apply)

Salary Range: $41,000-$43,500

Creative growth is encouraged by designing a curriculum that allows each child to contribute in his or her unique way. Children, parents, teachers, and the environment form a complete circle of learning inspiring all to join in the process. The role of the Lead Teacher is to establish and maintain a safe learning environment that is cognitively stimulating, aesthetically pleasing, and fosters a child’s emotional, social, physical, and cognitive growth using a Reggio Emilia inspired approach to a child’s learning.
