We have an opportunity for an energetic and dynamic Early Childhood Education Supervisor to join the administration team and an incredible school staff. The role of the Center Director is to manage the day-to day operations of the specific Sprout School for which they are responsible. The Center Director will be the primary contact with staff and families at the school.

The Center Director is responsible for delivery of a high-quality instructional program and works with the team to ensure overall operation of the school including: curriculum implementation in classrooms, staff training and development, student enrollment, parent and community relations, profit and loss management, and facility management. An ideal candidate will be an experienced Pre-K school educator. This is a full-time position with full benefits.

Lead Teacher – Sprout School (Bilingual – Spanish encouraged to apply)

Salary Range: $41,000-$43,500

The role of the Lead Teacher is to establish and maintain a safe learning environment that is cognitively stimulating, aesthetically pleasing, and fosters a child’s emotional, social, physical, and cognitive growth using a Reggio Emilia inspired approach to a child’s learning.

YWCA Richmond’s Internship Program’s mission is to maintain expertise in the field of sexual and domestic violence, nonprofit management, and child development by engaging interns in cutting-edge theory and interventions.

Case Management Intern-2 positions

Provide case management and support services within a best-practice model to families who are victims of sexual and domestic violence within residential and community systems.

Counseling Intern– 2 positions

Provide theoretically based counseling to survivors of domestic and sexual violence for community and residential clients.

Hotline Intern (Crisis Response Intern)

Provide theoretically based advocacy services and crisis support to victims of sexual and domestic violence through the EmpowerNet Hotline.  Interns will provide effective crisis de-escalation and emotional support to individuals calling the 24 hour EmpowerNet hotline.

Philanthropy Intern

Assist with Advancement and Development efforts and objectives, specifically cause marketing and
in-kind donations. Interns at the YWCA Richmond are involved in community education, community
fundraising, and advocacy through problem-solving and empowerment models. This internship offers diverse
learning opportunities including participation in planning of fundraising efforts, coordinating and expanding
diaper drives to support YWCA, administrative support for community-based events, and prospecting new inkind donation donors, supplementing the Advancement team’s objectives.
A component of the internship would include administrative support for projects that touch on all the
areas of the Advancement team. The team is collaborative, so the intern will be working with diverse team
members for every project. Research and idea generation around other areas of the YWCA’s goals might be
added based on the intern’s interests and skills base.

Philanthropy Intern Position Description
Position open until filled for Fall 2025/Spring 2026.

Prevention Intern

Provide best practice programming by promoting healthy and violence-free relationships through education
and collaboration to individuals and the community. To encourage and support coordinated systemic approaches for the prevention of intimate partner and gender-based violence and/or sexual assault. In this position, interns will recommend, develop, and administer best practice programming.

Required Trainings

Internship Orientation- 1st Day of Placement (unless student is informed of a different start date by individual department or supervisor)
Wednesday, September 3, 2025
9:30 AM – 4:00 PM

40-Hour Advocacy Training (Required for all staff, interns, and volunteers)
Scheduled to begin in September 2025
Typically held weekly on Wednesdays from 9 AM – 4 PM following orientation.
Dates for this year are still pending confirmation from the training team.

Inter-Department Training
Selected students will be informed during orientation or before from the department in which they are accepted/placed.

For reference, we generally accept students that are able to complete at least two consecutive semesters and/or a summer academic term unless noted below. We do make every effort to place students in the positions they apply for. However, placements may sometimes be adjusted based on skills or best overall fit. We also interview students from a variety of schools and always provide feedback if a student is not selected.
