We are excited to share that in addition to counseling adult survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual violence, YWCA Richmond is now offering children’s counseling for residents of Richmond or North Chesterfield.
Previously we only had the capacity to offer adult counseling services for survivors in our community. Yet, 90% of the survivors we work with have children, and many expressed concerns for their children who have witnessed violence and experienced trauma.
We are now able to provide the family support needed – in one location – through this expanded service for the parent and child(ren).
Our Children’s Clinician is currently offering 1:1 counseling for children who reside in Richmond or North Chesterfield and have either:
- Witnessed intimate partner violence against a parent or guardian (ages 5+) OR
- Experienced dating violence or sexual violence (adolescents ages 13+)
