YWCA Richmond offers programs & emergency services for survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence and intimate partner violence.

We partner with Hanover Safe Place and Safe Harbor to provide regional hospital accompaniment to survivors of sexual violence, and with five agencies on a 24/7 regional crisis hotline. Below are our in-agency services:

For Survivors of Domestic Violence

YWCA Richmond’s Domestic Violence Program offers free comprehensive crisis services for survivors of domestic abuse and their families. YWCA Richmond’s Domestic Violence Program serves women, men, and children in the Greater Richmond area. There is no cost to participate in the program. YWCA Richmond’s Domestic Violence Program provides the following services:

  • Individual and group counseling
  • Access to a 24-Hour Regional hotline
  • Emergency housing, if needed
  • Safety planning
  • Referrals to other services, as needed

YWCA Richmond staff persons facilitate domestic violence support groups and individual counseling at our downtown location and confidential locations throughout the community.

For Survivors of Sexual Violence

YWCA Richmond’s Sexual Violence Program offers free comprehensive crisis services for survivors of sexual assault (aged 12 years and older) and their families. There is no cost to participate in the program.

YWCA Richmond’s Sexual Violence Program provides the following services:

  • Individual and group counseling
  • Access to a 24-Hour Regional hotline
  • 24-Hour hospital accompaniment
  • Court accompaniment
  • Emergency housing, if needed
  • Referrals to other services, as needed
