YWCA’s Remember My Name

Domestic Violence Awareness Month wraps up with the YWCA’s annual Remember My Name memorial event on October 30. Since 1995, the YWCA of Richmond has been the host of Remember My Name, a memorial service to commemorate the lives of individuals in our community who have died as a result of domestic violence. Remember My Name is a nationwide event honoring victims of domestic violence.
The event includes a guest speaker and a nondenominational service to honor the victims of domestic violence and the opportunity for families to speak on behalf of those who have lost their lives.Tiffany Jana, CEO of local diversity and inclusion firm TMI Consulting, delivers the keynote at the event and speaks from her experience as a domestic violence survivor.
A dessert reception will follow. The Remember My Name memorial service is the culmination of October’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month activities.
