YWCA Richmond is committed to taking a proactive approach to dating violence by providing educational workshops to the community. This February, we are joining in LoveisRespect‘s Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month campaign. This page provides dates for YWCA Richmond TeenDVAM events, as well as resources for parents, educators and adult service providers.
Workshops for Adolescents
We have created a comprehensive teen dating violence awareness workshop and a bystander intervention workshop to address 11 to 17-year-olds. These workshops include preventive strategies, defining dating violence; methods abusers use to control their partners, identifying positive characteristics in a dating partner, indicators of an abusive relationship, and steps to practice healthy relationships with dating partners, friends, parents, and teachers. All workshops are custom-designed to accommodate your agency or event’s focus and time.
