- Special Events & Facilities Support
Keep our historic spaces looking and feeling beautiful for those we serve. There are several ways throughout the year to help with projects such as painting, sorting, organizing and decorating. We also often need volunteer support for events.
- Meal Support
Get a group together and adopt an apartment by providing a weekly meal for a family residing in our emergency housing. Days are flexible.
- Administrative Support
This could include anything from making purple ribbons for Domestic Violence Awareness Month, to stuffing envelopes for our Spring Mailing or supporting our front desk.
Volunteer Program Philosophy
YWCA Richmond acknowledges the critical role volunteers play in helping us achieve our mission to empower women, children and families. We value the contributions of volunteers and seek to utilize their time, talent, and passion to enrich the lives of others. We aspire to provide volunteers with the resources needed to be successful and to offer meaningful experiences that will have a lasting impact on our clients, organization, and community.
- Be a nonprofit of choice for volunteers
- Educate volunteers on issues important to our clients, organization, and community to affect positive change
- Build a collaborative community focused on making a significant impact
- Retain volunteers by offering meaningful and rewarding opportunities
